Now is the perfect opportunity to break this habit

The other morning I went to my mom's house to pick up a printer so I could complete my at-home office. Her house is the only outside contact I have with the world right now, being in quarantine and all.

I listened to her vent about some conversations and frustrations; I could tell she had a lot on her mind. To break the tension, I told her how I applied to Instacart to make some extra money, but my application was under review because I had a ticket for 15+ mph over the speed limit... And I said it happened just after I bought my new car while I was learning how fast it was.

She called me out and said she is sick of hearing excuses.

I agree.

My excuse for getting the ticket was that I bought a new car... The truth is: I love driving fast. I'm a complete adrenaline junky and I grew up driving anything and everything.

It stopped me in my tracks: we have the ultimate opportunity to stop making excuses and start executing the projects and ideas we have put off.

Some of the thing I have put off, with an excuse of not having enough time or organization: making jewelry for Northcast, a brand that I envisioned and dove into, only to put it on the backburner because I had to focus on making a living. Others include: reading as much as I'd like; preparing healthier food; spending more time taking care of myself; painting; writing and I'm sure there is more but that's a good start.

Since quarantine started (I think I started early; my mom was ahead of the game), I've made more time for ALL of those things - more time than I have in a long time.

AND YOU CAN TOO!

What I hope for the world is that we all get that *blink* moment where we truly realize the opportunity here - YES. IT SUCKS. But we can make something great with ourselves within this mess.

You are capable of such amazing things, and right now you are able to do those things with no excuses. Embrace it!
