Have you ever seen someone who maaayybe needs help, but they seem determined to do it on their own, so you stay silent and watch to see what happens?

Maybe you've seen someone trying to open somethin, and they were doing it wrong, but you wanted to watch to see if they could troubleshoot on their own...

Or maybe you saw someone with their hands full and instead of offering a hand, you opened the door and let them pass by as they struggle...

This happened yesterday:

No complaints here, it was super funny. "You can do it" was my mantra of the day, because of this guy who offered a hand at the last second.

2 packages came in the mail at once - I knew this, I had a notification.

I didn't know what they were, and I already had a large bag of jewelry making supplies, a case of Press seltzers (that was open) and my purse.

Getting from my car to the mail room was fine - that was a usual load for me.

Things got crazy when I opened the package door to find Amazon had sent two small items in two giant, seperate, boxes.

So being my ambitious self, I made a joke of it and said "well I wasn't expecting all those" and the gentleman who was standing there, staring, waiting for me to move so he could get HIS package said: "You can do it."

Flat out, that's it.

Again, I joked and exclaimed that I can for sure!

I slung my purse over my soulder, stacked the two boxes, threw the case of Press on top, balancing against my skull, then squatted down to grab my jewelry supply bag. I looked like a pack mule and everything probably weighed an awkward 80 lbs.

THEN HE SAID: "do you need help?"

AND I SAID: "No! I think I'm good! I'm going to make it!"

And all because he watched me struggle, and told me I could do it, and had some weird belief in me without knowing anythng about me, I did it.

It was horrible, and it hurt. I live on the 4th floor. This was no easy task; there was doors to open and keys to fumble.

But he believed in me. A stranger.

THAT IS MY MORAL OF THE STORY!

Share the love today. :)
